Indications of Becoral DX Tablet
Osteoporosis, osteomalacia, tetany, hypoparathyroidism, and disorders of osteogenesis are all treated and prevented with this drug. Additionally used as a supplement for elderly people, rickets, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and children whose diets are deficient in calcium. Other indications include pancreatitis, phosphate binder in chronic renal failure, and other conditions.
Pharmacology of Becoral DX Tablet
This calcium and vitamin D3 supplement is made from coral-derived calcium carbonate. Coral calcium carbonate shares striking similarities in chemical composition with human bone. Coral calcium is comparable to other calcium sources, but it absorbs calcium more quickly. Vitamin D3 facilitates the body's maintenance of calcium balance by increasing calcium absorption from the GI tract.
Dosage & Administration of Becoral DX Tablet
One or two tablets, with plenty of water, once or twice a day, or as prescribed by a doctor Better absorption is guaranteed when you eat after being full.
Interaction of Becoral DX Tablet
Tetracycline and fluoride preparations can be less effectively absorbed when taken with oral calcium, so at least 3 hours should pass between taking these medications. Renal calcium excretion can be decreased by thiazide diuretics. Barbiturates, glucocorticoids, and phenytoin can all cause vitamin D3 metabolism. Additionally, certain foods like spinach, cereals, milk, and their derivatives will lessen the amount of calcium that is absorbed in the intestines when consumed.
Contraindications
Hypercalcemia, hyperparathyroidism, bone metastasis, severe kidney failure, severe hypercalciuria, kidney stones caused by hypersensitivity to any ingredient, and vitamin D3 overdose.
