Indications of Ezetrol 10
A medication called Ezetrol is used to treat high cholesterol. This medication works by bringing down blood levels of "bad" cholesterol (LDL). A fatty substance called cholesterol causes your blood vessels to narrow as it accumulates, which can result in a heart attack or stroke. Ezetrol should be taken according to the doctor's instructions for dosage and duration.
Pharmacology
Ezetimibe reduces cholesterol retention by the Niemann-Pick C1-Like1 sterol transporter at the brush border of the small digestive tract (NPC1L1). This results in decreased cholesterol delivery to the liver decreased hepatic cholesterol stores and increased cholesterol clearance from the blood.
Administration & Dosage
Ezetimibe is taken once daily in doses of 10 mg. You can take ezetimibe with or without food.
Interaction of Ezetrol 10
Fibrates may cause cholelithiasis by increasing the excretion of cholesterol into the bile. Ezetimibe increased the amount of cholesterol in the bile from the gallbladder in a preclinical study with animals. Ezetimibe and fibrates shouldn't be administered together until patient use is taken into account.
Contraindications
sensitivity to any of this medicine's ingredients. Patients with dynamic liver disease or unexplained determined heights in serum transaminases should not take ezetimibe in combination with an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor.
Side Effect of Ezetrol 10
Clinical evaluations of ezetimibe (taken alone or in combination with an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor) showed that it was generally well tolerated. The overall incidence of adverse events associated with Ezetimibe was comparable to that associated with placebo, and the suspension rate due to adverse events was too comparable for Ezetimibe and fake treatment.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnant women have not been the subject of adequate and well-controlled studies on Ezetimibe. Ezetimibe should be used during pregnancy as if the potential benefit justifies the risk to the unborn child.
Precautions & Warnings
Avoid or treat auxiliary causes of dyslipidemia earlier than starting treatment. Renal and hepatic disability. Pregnancy and lactation.
Storage Conditions
Protect from light and moisture by storing below 30°C. Keep the medicine out of children's reach.
