Cavapro is indicated for:
Management of essential hypertension (high blood pressure)
Treatment of hypertensive renal disease in patients with type 2 diabetes, as part of a comprehensive antihypertensive regimen
Irbesartan, the active ingredient in Cavapro, is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. It selectively blocks AT1 receptors, thereby inhibiting the vasoconstrictive and aldosterone-secreting effects of angiotensin II. This results in blood pressure reduction and renal protection, particularly in diabetic patients.
