Inophos is used for controlling serum phosphorus levels in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) undergoing dialysis. It helps prevent complications related to elevated phosphorus levels, such as secondary hyperparathyroidism, renal bone disease, vascular calcification, and cardiovascular disease. It is a calcium-free, aluminum-free nonabsorbed polymer phosphate binder that works by inhibiting intestinal phosphate absorption when taken with meals.

Dose Titration:
Take it with food. Swallow whole; do not chew, crush, or break.
Studied with ciprofloxacin, digoxin, warfarin, enalapril, metoprolol, and iron.
Hypophosphatemia, bowel obstruction, hypersensitivity to Sevelamer hydrochloride or any of its constituents.
Safety is not established in patients with dysphagia, swallowing disorders, severe GI motility disorders, or major GI tract surgery. Use with caution in these conditions.
