Ceftid QS Pediatric Drops are used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections in children, including:
Pneumonia, Pharyngitis, Typhoid fever, Susceptible infections, Sinusitis, Otitis media, Tonsillitis, Soft tissue infections, Respiratory tract infections, Acute Exacerbations of Chronic bronchitis, Gonococcal urethritis, Acute bronchitis
Children over 6 months: 8 mg/kg/day in 1–2 divided doses.
6 months–1 year: 75 mg/day
1–4 years: 100 mg/day
5–10 years: 200 mg/day
Typhoid Fever: 15–20 mg/kg/day in 2 divided doses for 7–14 days (Max: 400 mg/day)
Children <6 months: Safety and efficacy not established.
Note: Dosage and duration depend on the type and severity of infection. Always follow the prescribed schedule.
General infections: 200–400 mg daily in 1–2 divided doses
Gonorrhea: Single dose of 400 mg
Typhoid fever: 20 mg/kg/day in two doses for 7–14 days
Dose adjustment is required for patients with creatinine clearance <20 mL/min (Max: 200 mg/day)
Probenecid: May increase cefixime levels.
Anticoagulants: May enhance bleeding risk by prolonging prothrombin time. Monitor if co-administered.
Pregnancy: Cephalosporins, including cefixime, have not shown significant risks in pregnant women. Use only under medical supervision.
Breastfeeding: Data on excretion in human milk is limited. Use with caution if prescribed by a physician.
