  • Inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses, such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis
  • Scalp psoriasis

Pharmacology

Soneta is a topical steroid containing Mometasone. It works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause skin redness, swelling, and itching. It depresses the formation, release, and activity of endogenous inflammatory mediators like kinins, histamine, liposomal enzymes, and prostaglandin. This leads to reduced inflammation, vascular dilation, and cell migration to the injury site, thus decreasing symptoms like swelling, itching, and redness.

Dosage & Administration of Soneta 0.1% Cream

Adult Dose: Apply a thin film of 0.1% cream/ointment to the affected area once daily.

Child Dose: For children >2 years, apply a thin film of 0.1% cream/ointment to the affected area once daily for not more than 3 weeks.

Interaction

Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors may increase systemic exposure to mometasone.
