Indications
A prescription drug called P-Don is used to treat nausea, vomiting, and indigestion. It enhances food movement in the stomach, which helps with digestion, and blocks the brain chemical that causes nausea or vomiting. P-Don is taken in the prescribed dose and time frame before meals.
Pharmacology
P-Don is a dopamine antagonist that principally blocks the dopamine receptors located in the ChemoreceptorTrigger Zone (CTZ) and stomach.
Dosage & Administration
P-Don should be taken 15-30 minutes before meals and, if necessary, before retiring.
Interaction
may counteract bromocriptine's hyperprolactinaemic effects. antimuscarinics and opioid analgesics may counteract the prokinetic effect. Possible Fatal: Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors, such as ritonavir, erythromycin, or ketoconazole, may raise serum domperidone levels, raising the risk of QT prolongation in the process.
Contraindications
P-Don is contraindicated to patients having known hypersensitivity to this drug and in the case of neonates.
