How does Diatrol MR 30 Tablet work?

Diatrol MR 30 Tablet works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas. It stimulates insulin secretion from the pancreas and decreases blood sugar levels.

Side Effects of Diatrol MR 30 Tablet
  • Common: Low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) symptoms include sweating, dizziness, and shivering. Severe cases require immediate medical attention.
  • Liver Disorders: Rare cases of liver dysfunction, indicated by yellow skin and eyes, require immediate medical attention.
  • Skin Disorders: Rash, redness, itching, hives, and severe allergic reactions like angioedema may occur.

Pharmacology

Gliclazide works by stimulating insulin secretion from the pancreas, reducing glucose production by the liver, and increasing insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues. It also decreases microthrombosis by partially inhibiting platelet aggregation and adhesion and by increasing tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA) activity.

Dosage & Administration of Immediate Release Tablets:
  • Initial Dose: 40-80 mg daily.
  • Dose Adjustment: Gradually increase up to 320 mg daily if necessary.
  • Administration: Doses exceeding 160 mg daily should be given in two divided doses.

  • Take Diatrol MR 30 in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.
  • Swallow whole, do not chew, crush, or break.
  • Take with food, preferably 30 minutes before a meal or with a meal.
