This dependence depends on the dose and duration of treatment; it is also more severe in susceptible patients with a history of alcohol. Once physical dependence occurs, completion of treatment will be accompanied by withdrawal symptoms. These can include headaches, muscle pain, extreme anxiety, tension, confusion, and irritability. Since there is an increased risk of withdrawal and rebound syndrome after abrupt withdrawal from the drug, it is recommended to gradually reduce the dose.
