Palbokin is a kinase inhibitor used to treat hormone receptor (HR)-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer. It is prescribed in combination with:
Palbociclib selectively and reversibly inhibits cyclin-dependent kinases (CDK) 4 and 6. These kinases, along with cyclin D1, play a role in cell proliferation by regulating the cell cycle progression from the G1 to S phase. Inhibiting CDK4/6 slows the proliferation of breast cancer cells.
