Indications of D-cough 100ml Syrup
Dextromethorphan is used to relieve dry cough caused by a cold, flu, or other conditions.
Pharmacology of D-cough 100ml Syrup
Dextromethorphan works directly on the cough center in the medulla of the brain to suppress the cough reflex. Dextromethorphan binds to multiple brain areas with great affinity, including the medullary cough center. This substance works as a non-competitive channel blocker and functions as an NMDA receptor antagonist. It's a common antitussive that's also used to investigate the role of glutamate receptors in neurotoxicity.
