Fenadin Suspension contains Fexofenadine, an Antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis and uncomplicated skin manifestations of chronic idiopathic urticaria in children (aged 2 to 11 years and 6 months to 11 years, respectively). Seasonal allergic rhinitis is characterized by symptoms like nasal stuffiness, itchy nose/throat/eyes, headache, and weakness, triggered by exposure to airborne allergens. Chronic idiopathic urticaria causes raised wheals, itching, and swelling of the skin, lips, eyelids, or throat with an unknown cause.
Avoid giving fruit juices (grapefruit, orange, apple) to your child while using Fenadin Suspension, as they may reduce its effectiveness. Inform your child's doctor about any liver, kidney, or heart problems before administering the medicine. It is not recommended for children allergic to fexofenadine.
Fenadin Suspension is not indicated for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women, as it is meant for children only. Common side effects include headache, back pain, dizziness, stomach discomfort, extremity pain, fever, middle ear infection, and vomiting. If symptoms worsen, contact your child's physician.
