Benzit combines two clinically proven active ingredients:
Flupentixol – a neuroleptic agent with anxiolytic and mild antidepressant effects when taken in low doses.
Melitracen – a tricyclic antidepressant (thymoleptic) that exhibits activating and mood-elevating properties at low doses.
Together, these compounds provide a synergistic antidepressant, anxiolytic, and activating effect.
After oral administration, both drugs reach peak plasma concentrations within approximately 4 hours. The elimination half-life of flupentixol is about 35 hours, while melitracen’s is around 19 hours. The combination does not alter the pharmacokinetic behavior of either compound.
Adults: 2 tablets daily—one in the morning and one at noon. In severe cases, the morning dose may be increased to 2 tablets.
Elderly patients: Usually 1 tablet in the morning.
Maintenance dose: 1 tablet in the morning.
In cases of insomnia or severe agitation, short-term use of a sedative during the acute phase may be recommended.
Use is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless prescribed by a physician.
