How to take Lamitrin 2mg Tablet

Missed Dose:

Dosage & Administration of Lamitrin 2mg Tablet

Adults:

• Epilepsy: Start with 25 mg once daily for 2 weeks, then 50 mg once daily for 2 weeks. Increase by 50-100 mg every 1-2 weeks to a maintenance dose of 100-200 mg daily. Some patients may need up to 500 mg daily.
• Adjunct in epilepsy (with valproate): Start with 25 mg on alternate days for 2 weeks, then 25 mg once daily for 2 weeks. Increase by 25-50 mg every 1-2 weeks to a maintenance dose of 100-200 mg daily.
• Bipolar Disorder: Start with 25 mg once daily for 2 weeks, then 50 mg once daily for 2 weeks. Double the daily dose at weekly intervals to a maintenance dose of 200 mg daily.

Children:

• Epilepsy (adjunct with valproate): Start with 0.15 mg/kg once daily for 2 weeks, then 0.3 mg/kg once daily for 2 weeks. Increase by 0.3 mg/kg every 1-2 weeks to a maintenance dose of 1-5 mg/kg daily.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to Lamotrigine.
