Hyperacidity caused by a peptic ulcer, gastritis, peptic oesophagitis, gastric hyperacidity, heartburn, sour stomach, or a hiatus hernia is treated with this medication. Entacyd Plus helps to avoid stress ulcers and gastrointestinal bleeding. It works as an antiflatulent, reducing gas symptoms such as post-operative gas pain. This soothes acid discomfort, disperses gastric froth, and aids gas and air eructation.
Entacyd Plus is a combination of antiflatulent and non-systemic acid neutralizing chemicals. This preparation is both reliable and effective for a long time. By neutralizing gastric acid released by parietal cells of the stomach, Aluminium Hydroxide and Magnesium Hydroxide relieve ulcers. The antifoam characteristics of simethicone have led to its therapeutic application. Simethicone forms a low-surface-tension coating on the surface of aqueous liquids, causing foam bubbles to collapse. Simethicone allows mucous-encased gas bubbles in the GI tract to agglomerate and be evacuated on a regular basis.
Entacyd Plus is used to treat flatulence and meteorism, as well as to relieve stomach distension and dyspepsia by removing gas, air, or foam from the gastro-intestinal tract prior to radiography.
Simethicone appears to be physiologically inactive, as it is not absorbed from the GI tract and does not appear to interfere with gastric secretion or nutritional absorption. The medication is eliminated unaltered in the feces after oral dosing.
1-2 tablets 1-3 hours after a meal and at bedtime or as directed by the physician.
Antacids have the potential to affect the absorption of other oral drugs, either by increasing or decreasing their rate and/or extent of absorption. The bioavailability of certain drugs can be decreased by antacids, including theophylline, tetracycline, quinolone antibiotics, isoniazid, ketoconazole, ethambutol, some antimuscarinic drugs, benzodiazepines, phenothiazines, ranitidine, indomethacin, nitrofurantoin, fluoride, phosphate, propranolol, atenolol, digoxins, and vitamins. On the other hand, antacids can increase the bioavailability of some drugs, such as sulfonamides, levodopa, valproic acid, and enteric-coated aspirin. It is important to inform your healthcare provider about all the medications you are taking, including antacids, to ensure safe and effective treatment.
Patients with renal failure or hypophosphatemia, as well as those who are extremely debilitated, should not take this. In cases of alkalosis and hypermagnesaemia, if abdominal distention is caused by partial or complete intestinal blockage, it is also contraindicated.
It is advised to avoid antacid preparations in the first trimester of pregnancy.
Keep the temperature below 30°C and away from light and moisture. Keep out of children's reach.
