Betamethasone and Neomycin are the two medications found in Betson-N Cream. A steroid drug is Betamethasone. It prevents the body from releasing specific chemicals (like prostaglandins) that lead to swelling, redness, and inflammation. It lessens swelling, discomfort, itching, and redness when applied directly to the skin.
One such antibiotic is Neomycin. It destroys the infection-causing germs when administered directly to the skin. Together, these medications lessen skin inflammation and edema while also preventing skin infections.
Both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria can cause surface infections, and this cream is frequently used to treat them. Additionally, it can aid with eczema, neuro-dermatitis, surgical infections, ulceration, otitis externa, and burns. It may be given in addition to systemic steroid therapy for some kinds of pyoderma.
A topical corticosteroid called Betamethasone quickly responds to inflammatory dermatoses and treats skin diseases that resemble psoriasis. A topical broad-spectrum bactericidal amino-glycoside called neomycin sulfate fights both gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms like Proteus vulgaris and Staphylococcus aureus. This preparation functions effectively in intertriginous and hairy areas due to its good penetration and even distribution capacity. This medication is particularly effective in treating moist skin ulcers.
Patients who are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients in this preparation should avoid it. When the eardrum is punctured, it should not be used to treat otitis externa. It should not be used to treat skin lesions caused by viruses or fungi.
Keep the temperature below 30°C and away from light and moisture. Keep out of children's reach.
