Adult Dosage

3. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA): 600 mg twice daily for 7–21 days.
4. Complicated Skin Infections, Community-Acquired, or Nosocomial Pneumonia: 600 mg every 12 hours for 10–14 days.

• No dose adjustment is required for elderly patients or those with mild to moderate liver disease.

Pediatric Dosage

1. Pneumonia or Complicated Skin Infections:
   • Birth–11 years: 30 mg/kg/day divided every 8 hours.
   • Over 11 years: 1,200 mg/day divided every 12 hours.
2. Uncomplicated Skin Infections:
   • Birth–5 years: 30 mg/kg/day divided every 8 hours.
   • 5–11 years: 20 mg/kg/day divided every 12 hours.
   • Over 11 years: 1,200 mg/day divided every 12 hours.

Renal Dose

• No dosage adjustment is required for renal impairment.

• Increased Risk of Serotonin Syndrome: With MAOIs, TCAs, SSRIs, or other serotonergic drugs (e.g., bupropion, vilazodone, meperidine).
• Increased Blood Pressure: With sympathomimetic agents (e.g., pseudoephedrine), vasopressors (e.g., epinephrine), or dopaminergic agents (e.g., dopamine).
• May reduce serum levels of rifampicin and phenytoin.
• May increase the risk of hypoglycemia with insulin or oral antidiabetic agents.

• Known hypersensitivity to Linezolid or its components.
• Concurrent use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or within two weeks of discontinuing MAOI therapy.
