Nistin 100000IU Suspension works by stopping the action of a certain vital component of the fungal cell wall. This results in the disruption of the fungus cell membrane and finally kills it.
Nystatin is an antifungal antibiotic that may be used to treat a variety of yeasts and yeast-like fungi, including Candida albicans. It is used to prevent and cure Candida infections of the oral cavity, esophagus, and gastrointestinal system. It effectively prevents oral candidiasis in children delivered to moms with vaginal candidiasis. It is used to prevent Candida overgrowth during broad-spectrum antibiotic regimens.
Nystatin has fungicidal or fungistatic action against a wide range of pathogenic and nonpathogenic yeasts and fungi, including Candida albicans. Nystatin's antifungal action is mediated via binding to sterols in the fungal cell membrane. The membrane is no longer able to serve as a selective barrier as a result of binding, and potassium and other cellular components are lost. The gastric system absorbs it weakly.
