Indications of Rozith 15 ml Powder For Suspension
Rozith is an antibiotic used to treat different kinds of bacterial infections in both adult's and children's eyes, skin, lungs, ears, nose, and throat. Additionally, it works well against typhoid fever and a few STDs, including gonorrhea. Rozith is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that works well to eliminate various gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria as well as other microorganisms.
Pharmacology of Rozith 15 ml Powder For Suspension
Since azithromycin is acid-stable, it can be taken orally without a stomach acid protectant. It is quickly absorbed, and an empty stomach allows for greater absorption. The oral dosage form has a 2.1 to 3.2 hour time to maximum concentration in adults. The reason azithromycin is actively transported to the site of infection is because of its high concentration in phagocytic cells. Large concentrations of azithromycin are released during active phagocytosis. Azithromycin concentrations in tissue can be up to 50 times higher than those in plasma. This results from ions being trapped and lipids having a high solubility.
A single large dose of azithromycin can be administered while still maintaining bacteriostatic levels in infected tissue for several days thanks to its long half-life. Plasma azithromycin concentrations decreased polyphasically after a single 500 mg dose, with a mean apparent plasma clearance of 630 ml/min and a terminal elimination half-life of 68 hours. The extensive absorption and subsequent release of the drug from the tissues are thought to be the cause of the prolonged terminal half-life. The main method of elimination for azithromycin is primarily unchanged excretion. Approximately 6% of the administered dose continued to show up unchanged in the urine after a week.

Interaction of Rozith 15 ml Powder For Suspension
In the presence of food and antacids, azithromycin absorption was decreased. Azithromycin should therefore be given either one hour before or two hours after eating or taking antacids. If azithromycin is used concurrently with digoxin and ergot derivatives, careful patient monitoring is advised because there is a chance of increased digoxin concentration and a theoretical chance of ergotism. Azithromycin and warfarin, theophylline, carbamazepine, methylprednisolone, and cimetidine have not been found to interact pharmacokinetically.
Contraindications of Rozith 15 ml Powder For Suspension
Rozith® is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to azithromycin, erythromycin, or any macrolide or ketolide antibiotic.
Rozith 15 ml Powder For Suspension Side Effects
Low incidences of side effects are associated with azithromycin's well-tolerance. The gastrointestinal system's side effects, including diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, flatulence, and melena, are the most frequently reported ones. There have been reports of allergic reactions like rash, edema, and urticaria as well as rare cases of severe hypersensitivity reactions. Although no link to azithromycin has been proven, transient mild decreases in neutrophil counts have occasionally been seen in clinical trials.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Pregnancy: Pregnancy Category B. In the animal studies, no evidence of harm to the fetus due to azithromycin was found. Animal reproduction studies are not always predictive of human response; azithromycin should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed.
Nursing Mothers: It is not known whether azithromycin is excreted in human milk. Because many drugs are excreted in human milk, caution should be exercised when azithromycin is administered to a nursing woman.
Precautions & Warnings
The liver is the principal route of elimination of azithromycin, caution should be exercised when azithromycin is administered to patients with impaired hepatic function. If any allergic reaction occurs, the drug should be discontinued and appropriate therapy should be instituted.
