Indications
Tolperisone Hydrochloride is indicated in-
Increased skeletal muscle tone as a result of organic neurological diseases is treated (injury of the pyramidal tract, multiple sclerosis, myelopathy, encephalomyelitis).
Muscle spasm, muscle contracture, rigidity, and spinal automatism are all treated.
Obliterative arteriosclerosis, diabetic angiopathy, obliterative thromboangitis, Raynaud's disease, and diffuse scleroderma are all vascular disorders.
Post-thrombotic venous and lymphatic circulation abnormalities, as well as a crural ulcer, have been reported in some cases.
Pharmacology
Tolperisone Hydrochloride is a centrally acting muscle relaxant that acts on the central nervous system and is used to treat high muscle tone and stress, as well as certain circulation issues in the extremities.
Dosage & Administration
The recommended dose is as follows:
Adult: 50-150 mg three times daily according to the individual requirement and tolerance of the patient.
Children (from 3 months to 6 years): 5 mg/kg/day in three divided doses.
Children (from 6 to 14 years): 2-4 mg/kg/day in three divided doses. or, as directed by the registered physician.
Interaction
The usage of methocarbamol and Tolperisone Hydrochloride together has been linked to visual accommodation problems.
Contraindications
Patients having a history of hypersensitivity to any component of the product, myasthenia gravis, and nursing mothers should avoid it.
Side Effects
Muscle weakness, headache, nausea, and vomiting are all possible side effects, while hypersensitivity reactions (itching, redness, and skin rash) are rare.
Pregnancy & Lactation
Tolperisone Hydrochloride should only be used during pregnancy if your doctor recommends it. It should not be used while a baby is being breastfed.
Precautions & Warnings
