How does Uroza 200 work?

Uroza 200 mg Tablet relaxes the muscles in the urinary bladder and helps the bladder to retain a larger amount of urine.

Side Effects of Uroza 200

• Gastrointestinal: Nausea, vomiting, dry mouth.
• Central Nervous System (CNS): Vertigo, headache, mental confusion (especially in the elderly), drowsiness, nervousness.
• Hematologic: Leukopenia (reversible upon discontinuation).
• Cardiovascular: Tachycardia, palpitation.
• Allergic Reactions: Urticaria, other dermatoses, eosinophilia, hyperpyrexia.
• Ophthalmic: Increased ocular tension, blurred vision, disturbance in eye accommodation.

Quick Suggestions:

• Uroza 200 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food. Do not crush, break, or chew the tablet.
• Avoid taking a higher dose than advised.
• Avoid caffeine-containing drinks such as tea, coffee, etc., as it will make you want to pass urine frequently.
• Also, avoid drinking too much late at night, as it may make you want to go to the toilet at night and disturb your sleep.
• Your doctor may also recommend some exercises to strengthen your bladder muscles.

Uroza is prescribed for the symptomatic relief of:

• Dysuria (painful urination)
• Urgency (sudden urge to urinate)
• Nocturia (frequent urination at night)
• Suprapubic pain (pain in the lower abdomen)
• Urinary frequency and incontinence are associated with conditions such as cystitis, prostatitis, urethritis, and urethrocystitis.

Pharmacology

Flavoxate, the active ingredient in Uroza, acts as an antagonist at muscarinic acetylcholine receptors in cholinergically innervated organs. It reduces smooth muscle tone in the bladder, thereby decreasing voids, urge incontinence episodes, and urge severity, while improving retention and void volume.

Dosage & Administration of Uroza 200

• Adults and Children Over 12 Years:
  • Initial Dose: 100 mg to 200 mg, three times a day.
