How does Angivent MR work?
Angivent MR works by optimizing the metabolism of fatty acids and glucose, thereby allowing more blood flow and oxygen supply to the heart. It also reduces the thickening and scarring of heart tissue. This results in reducing chest pain due to blood vessel narrowing or blocking.

Indication of Angivent MR
- Adults: Add-on therapy for the symptomatic treatment of patients with stable angina pectoris who are inadequately controlled by or intolerant to first-line antianginal therapies.
Pharmacology
Trimetazidine Dihydrochloride is a 3-keto acyl CoA thiolase (KAT) inhibitor. It works by inhibiting the fatty acid pathway and enhancing the glucose pathway for energy production, which is more efficient and oxygen-conserving. This mechanism reduces the production of lactic acid, thereby alleviating angina pectoris symptoms.
Dosage & Administration of Angivent MR
- Recommended Dose:
- 35 mg twice daily or
- 20 mg tablet thrice daily, taken with meals.
- Treatment Assessment: Assess treatment benefit after three months; discontinue if there is no response.
Interaction
No known interactions with beta-blockers, calcium antagonists, nitrates, heparin, hypolipidemic agents, or digitalis preparations.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Trimetazidine Dihydrochloride.
