• Take the Fast Plus Tablet as advised by your doctor
• Take the tablet with a glass of water and do not crush or chew it
• Take one to two tablets not more frequently than every 4-6hrs or as directed by your doctor
• Do not exceed the stated recommended daily dosage
• It should be used with caution in patients having liver or kidney diseases
• Fast Plus Tablet is not recommended for children below 12 years of age

Pharmacology

This medication is a combination of Paracetamol and Caffeine. Paracetamol possesses analgesic and antipyretic properties with weak anti-inflammatory activity. Caffeine, an alkaloid similar to theophylline, enhances the solubility and transmembrane permeation of Paracetamol through intermolecular association. Additionally, Caffeine increases the pain threshold and tolerance, and it raises vessel tone in the brain, providing benefits in treating migraine and headaches.

Dosage & Administration of Fast Plus Tablet

• Adult dose: 1-2 tablets every 4-6 hours. Maximum dose: 8 tablets daily.
• Child dose: Not recommended for children below 12 years.
• Take as advised by the doctor, and swallow whole, without chewing or crushing.
• May be taken with or without food.
• Avoid caffeine and chocolate while using Fast Plus.

Interaction

• May reduce serum levels with anticonvulsants.
• May enhance the anticoagulant effect of warfarin and other coumarins.
• Accelerated absorption with metoclopramide and domperidone.
• May increase serum levels with probenecid.
• May increase serum levels of chloramphenicol.
• May reduce absorption with colestyramine within 1 hr of admin.
• May cause severe hypothermia with phenothiazine.

Contraindications

• Severe renal function impairment and hepatic disease (Viral Hepatitis).
• Known hypersensitivity to paracetamol or caffeine.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregnant mothers should consult with doctors before taking Paracetamol & Caffeine. Can be taken while breastfeeding.

Precautions & Warnings

• Given cautiously in hepatic or renal failure, and patients taking other hepatotoxic medication.
• Prolonged use without consulting a physician should be avoided.
