Trimetazidine: Anti-anginal agents
Vestar MR 35mg Tablet is used in adult patients for the management of angina pectoris (chest pain caused by heart disease) along with other medicines. It protects heart cells from the effects of reduced oxygen supply during an episode of angina.
Angina is characterized by sudden, sharp, and severe chest pain, pressure, or discomfort caused by reduced blood flow to the heart. It is a symptom of underlying coronary heart disease, which involves narrowing or blockage of blood vessels carrying blood and oxygen to the heart. The pain may radiate to the left shoulder and can also be felt in the jaw, neck, back, or abdomen. Shortness of breath and fatigue may also occur.
Vestar MR 35mg Tablet is not recommended if you have Parkinson's disease (a brain disorder affecting movement) or severe kidney problems.
Consult your doctor if any side effects persist or worsen over time. Always follow your doctor's advice and report any concerns or adverse reactions.
Vestar MR 35mg Tablet plays a crucial role in managing angina and protecting heart cells during episodes of reduced oxygen supply. However, it's important to be aware of potential side effects and contraindications and to use the medication cautiously, especially in certain patient populations.
It's unsafe to consume alcohol while taking Vestar MR as it may cause excessive drowsiness.
Consult your doctor before taking Vestar MR 35mg Tablet during pregnancy, as information regarding its safety during pregnancy is not available.
Consult your doctor before taking Vestar MR while breastfeeding, as information regarding its safety during breastfeeding is not available.
It's unsafe to drive while taking Vestar MR as it may decrease alertness, affect vision, or cause drowsiness and dizziness.
Use Vestar MR 35mg Tablet with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be necessary. Avoid using Vestar MR in patients with severe kidney disease.
Limited information is available on the use of Vestar MR in patients with liver disease. Consult your doctor if you have liver issues.
Vestar MR decreases the oxygen requirement of the heart by shifting its metabolism from fats to glucose, making the heart work more efficiently.
Common side effects include dizziness, headache, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and rash.
Vestar MR is an anti-anginal medicine used to treat heart-related chest pain (angina). It prevents new attacks of angina but does not stop an acute attack once it has started. It should be taken regularly as advised by the doctor.
Trimetazidine acts as a cytoprotective agent by inhibiting anaerobic glycolysis and fatty acid metabolism, restoring energy balance in the cell.
Adult Dose: For Angina pectoris, the adult dose is 40-60 mg daily in 2-3 divided doses. Modified-release tablets are available with a dosage of 35 mg twice daily.
Renal Dose: In renal impairment, dosage adjustment is required based on creatinine clearance (CrCl). Vestar MR is contraindicated in patients with CrCl <30 mL/min.
Vestar MR may interact with MAOIs, nifedipine, and other antianginal medications.
Hypersensitivity to Trimetazidine Dihydrochloride.
The use of Vestar MR during pregnancy is not recommended unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks to the fetus. It's not known whether Vestar MR passes into breast milk, so breastfeeding while taking this medication should be done only if the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
Use with caution in moderate renal impairment (CrCl 30-60 mL/min) and during pregnancy. Vestar MR may cause dizziness and drowsiness; avoid driving or operating machinery if affected.
