Maturex 60mg Tablets is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that increases the action of the chemical serotonin in certain areas of the nervous system. This helps to increase the time it takes to ejaculate and improves the control over the ejaculation.

• Take it as a whole with a sufficient amount of water.
• It can be taken with or without food.
• Dapoxetine should only be taken 1 to 3 hours before sexual activity is anticipated.
• Do not take this medicine more than once 24 hours or every day.
• Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how Dapoxetine affects you.
• Dapoxetine may cause a sudden drop in your blood pressure. Rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.

Indication of Maturex 60 Tablet

Maturex 60 mg is indicated for the treatment of premature ejaculation (PE) in men aged 18 to 64 years, characterized by ejaculation occurring before, on, or shortly after penetration and causing marked personal distress or interpersonal difficulty.

Pharmacology

Maturex 60 mg inhibits the neuronal reuptake of serotonin, potentiating its activity. Serotonin plays a crucial role in the central ejaculatory neural circuit, exerting inhibitory effects on ejaculation. The drug targets serotonin receptors, specifically 5-HT(1A), 5-HT(1B), and 5-HT(2C), modulating ejaculation.

Dosage & Administration of Maturex 60 Tablet

The recommended starting dose for adults is 30 mg, taken 1 to 3 hours before sexual activity. If necessary, the dose may be increased to 60 mg. The maximum dosing frequency is once every 24 hours.

Interaction

Maturex 60 mg may interact with CNS active medicinal products, PDE5 inhibitors, tamsulosin, warfarin, and ethanol, potentially leading to adverse effects or altered pharmacokinetics.

Contraindications

Contraindications include hypersensitivity to Maturex 60 mg, significant cardiac conditions, concomitant treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), thioridazine, serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs), or other products with serotonergic effects.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Dapoxetine, the active ingredient in Maturex 60 mg, is not indicated for use in women, and its excretion in human breast milk is not known.

Precautions & Warnings

Patients with bleeding disorders, epilepsy, susceptibility to angle-closure glaucoma, or raised intraocular pressure should exercise caution. The medication is not intended for use in women, and caution is advised in known CYP2D6-poor metabolizers.

Symptoms of overdose may include serotonin-mediated adverse reactions such as somnolence, gastrointestinal disturbances, tachycardia, tremor, agitation, and dizziness. Standard supportive measures should be adopted if an overdose occurs.
