Permisol cream is a topical treatment for scabies, containing permethrin as the active ingredient. It works by paralyzing and killing the mites (Sarcoptes scabiei) that cause the infection, which leads to symptoms like intense itching and a pimple-like rash. Apply the cream as directed on clean, dry skin, avoiding broken skin and contact with the eyes. Wash hands before and after use. It is for external use only.

Permisol 5% Cream contains Permethrin, an anti-parasitic agent used to treat scabies, pediculosis (lice), and crab louse infections. Scabies is a skin condition caused by the Sarcoptes scabiei mite, resulting in intense itching where the mite burrows.
Permisol 5% Cream is not recommended for those allergic to chrysanthemums or permethrin. Caution is advised for patients with lung diseases like asthma or eczema, as well as children under 18 years and infants below 2 months of age. It is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Common side effects include itching, redness, burning sensations, and dry skin. In rare cases, users may experience hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rashes, fever, or breathing difficulties, in which case medical attention is required.
For application, the cream is for external use only and should be applied as directed by a physician. It should not be applied near the eyes, mouth, or broken skin.
If accidentally ingested, seek medical help immediately. Store the cream below 25°C, away from children's reach.

Scabies
Permisol 5% Cream acts against scabies-causing organisms called mites.
Permethrin cream contains Permethrin, a pyrethroid, which is a topical scabicidal agent for the treatment of infestation with Sarcoptes Scabiei (scabies). It acts on the nerve cell membrane to disrupt the sodium channel current by which the polarization of the membrane is regulated. Delayed repolarization & paralysis of the pests are the consequences of this disturbance.
The only approved route of administration is the topical route and there are few human data available on systemic exposure or kinetics following permethrin application to the skin. Some presystemic metabolism occurs in the skin. Less than 0.5% of applied permethrin is absorbed during the first 48 hours. Absorbed permethrin is rapidly metabolized by ester hydrolysis, most likely in the liver, and the products are excreted primarily in the urine.
Your doctor will provide instructions on how to apply Permisol 5% Cream and the appropriate amount. Be sure to follow the directions carefully. Before applying, ensure your skin is clean, dry, and cool. After application, thoroughly wash your body 8-14 hours later. Typically, a single treatment is sufficient, but if a second application is required, wait at least 7 days. Itching may persist for a few weeks after treatment, which is likely an allergic reaction to the dead mites rather than an indication that the treatment was unsuccessful.
Since Permisol 5% Cream is to be used externally on the skin, it is less likely to interact with other medicines. However, you should always consult your doctor if you are taking other medicines for treating other health conditions.
Permethrin is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component of pyrethroids or permethrin. Nursing staff who routinely apply permethrin may wear gloves to avoid any possible irritation to the hands.
Permisol 5% Cream is to be applied on topical surfaces and the quantities that might get absorbed from the skin are too small and there are rare chances of absorption. Still, this medicine should be used under medical supervision by a pregnant woman.
There is limited information about its effect on breast milk and breastfeeding babies. Thus, it is advised not to be applied to the breasts of breastfeeding mothers or elsewhere on large areas of skin or for a prolonged time.
Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight
