Serious Side Effects:

• Swollen hands and feet

If you experience any of these side effects or if they do not go away, inform your doctor.

Tips for Using Hairgain 2%

• Wash your hands before and after application.
• Apply only to the scalp. If it accidentally contacts your eyes, nose, or mouth, rinse thoroughly with cool water.
• Avoid shampooing or using a hairdryer for 4 hours after application, as it can reduce the effectiveness.
• Expect increased hair fall during the first 2 weeks of application. This is normal and indicates that Hairgain 2% is working.
• Prevent the solution from trickling down onto your face to avoid undesired facial hair growth.

Special Instructions for Use

• Adults (18-65 years): Apply 1 mL of 2% solution to the affected areas of the scalp twice daily. The total dosage should not exceed 2 mL in 24 hours.
• Children (<18 years) and Elderly (>65 years): Safety and efficacy not established.

Missed Dose instructions

The missed dose should be taken as soon as possible. It is advisable to skip the missed dose if it's already time for your next scheduled dose.

Interaction with Medicines

• Alprazolam: This may lower blood pressure if taken together. Inform your doctor about any central nervous system medications. Dose adjustments may be necessary.
• Corticosteroids (e.g., cortisone, dexamethasone, prednisolone): May reduce the effectiveness of Hairgain by 2%. Report any symptoms of uncontrolled blood pressure to your doctor for potential dose adjustments.
• Guanethidine: Not recommended together due to the risk of significantly lowering blood pressure. Inform your doctor of any symptoms of blood pressure changes.

Interaction with Food

• Natural Licorice: Avoid, as it can cause sodium and water retention and increase potassium loss.

Interaction with Diseases

• Cardiovascular Conditions: Use maximum therapeutic doses of diuretics and two antihypertensives before adding this drug. Monitor for pericardial effusion, tamponade, or exacerbation of angina pectoris.
• Concurrent Guanethidine Use: Monitor for orthostatic hypotension. May require a diuretic to manage fluid gain and a beta-blocker (if no contraindications) to treat tachycardia.
• Rapid Blood Pressure Control: Can lead to syncope, cerebrovascular accident (CVA), myocardial infarction (MI), or ischemia.
• Hypersensitivity Reactions: Rare but possible.
• Post-Myocardial Infarction: Avoid use for a month after an acute MI.
• Hair Growth Patterns: Inform patients about possible changes before starting therapy.
• Hypertrichosis: May take 1-6 months to reverse after discontinuation.
• Pulmonary Hypertension, Renal Failure, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Ischemic Disease: Use with caution.
• Renal Failure and Dialysis Patients: May require a smaller dose.

Precautions and Contraindications

• Do not use Hairgain 2% if you have a history of hypersensitivity to Minoxidil or any other ingredients in the formulation.
• Consult your doctor if you have cardiovascular disease or cardiac arrhythmia before using Hairgain 2%.
• Avoid using other creams or lotions on your scalp while using Hairgain 2%.
