Tiagra 5mg Tablet is a medication used to address two primary conditions:
Additionally, under the brand name Adcirca, tadalafil is employed to enhance exercise capacity in individuals with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). PAH involves high blood pressure in the lung vessels, leading to symptoms like shortness of breath, dizziness, and fatigue. Tadalafil for PAH functions by dilating the lung blood vessels, allowing for more efficient blood flow.
It's crucial to note that tadalafil does not cure ED, increase sexual desire, prevent pregnancy, or safeguard against sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV. It specifically addresses the physical aspects of ED and BPH, promoting improved blood flow and symptom relief.
Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication, as it can intensify side effects.
Tiagra 5mg Tablet is not indicated for use in women.

It may cause dizziness, so refrain from driving if you experience this side effect.
Caution should be exercised when using Tiagra 5mg Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be necessary. Please consult your doctor if you have kidney issues.
Tiagra 5mg Tablet should be used cautiously in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment may be required. However, the use of Tiagra 5mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
Erectile dysfunction (impotence), benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH)
Tiagra 5mg Tablet is a phosphodiesterase (PDE-5) inhibitor. It works in erectile dysfunction by increasing blood flow to the penis by relaxing the muscles in penile blood vessels. Tiagra 5mg Tablet also relaxes or widens the blood vessels inside the lungs. When the blood vessels relax and widen, it’s easier for the heart to pump blood through the lungs, which reduces blood pressure in the lungs.
Common side effects include headache, dyspepsia, back pain, myalgia, nasal pharyngitis, and nasal congestion. Rare but possible complications may include changes in color vision, sudden vision loss, hearing loss, Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, exfoliative dermatitis, angina, stroke, myocardial infarction, severe hypotension, and tachycardia.
Erectile dysfunction (ED) refers to the inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual intercourse. It can be caused by physical or psychological factors such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or stress. Certain lifestyle factors like smoking, alcohol consumption, obesity, physical inactivity, and high blood pressure can contribute to ED. Symptoms of ED include difficulty in achieving an erection, trouble maintaining it during sexual activity, and reduced sexual desire.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), also known as prostate enlargement, is the non-cancerous growth of the prostate gland due to the multiplication of cells. This growth can lead to the swelling and constriction of the urethra, resulting in urinary difficulties. BPH is typically associated with aging and can cause issues like loss of bladder control, frequent urination, difficulty initiating urination, incomplete emptying of the bladder, a weak urinary stream, dribbling at the end of urination, sudden urges to urinate, and painful urination.
Tiagra 5mg Tablet is used to treat erectile dysfunction (impotence) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Sometimes, Tiagra 5mg Tablet is also used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (high blood pressure in the lungs).
Tadalafil is a specific inhibitor of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5). PDE5 inhibition raises cGMP levels in smooth muscle cells. Smooth muscle relaxation and increased blood flow into the corpus cavernosum are both caused by cGMP, resulting in penile erection. PDE5 is also found in the prostate and bladder wall smooth muscles. PDE5 inhibition raises cGMP levels, causing smooth muscle relaxation in the prostate and bladder. Smooth muscle relaxation may enhance blood flow to the urinary system and widen the bladder neck opening, resulting in better voiding.
